General Music Room Information
Music Classroom Rules
I It is very important for students to be good listeners in the music room. We are only in music for a limited time and I want to fill that time with music, not discipline problems!
I expect all students to:
Be Respectful
Be Kind
Raise Hands to Speak
Share with each other
Tell the truth
Work quietly
Follow directions the first time
Do their best

Individual Behavior
I will be sending PINK notes if there are any issues with behavior during music time.
Class Dojo
Some classes at Elberfeld are using Class Dojo. This has been shared with me as well. I will give green points for emoji faces and red points for stop signs.
Class Behavior
We have a classroom reward chart for each class. Classes that have excellent behavior will earn their reward point and a note will be sent to the classroom teacher. A dot will be added to the classroom's reward chart. The reward chart has prizes already on it (chips and movie day, Free iPad day, Music Game Day, free recess day)
Grading Scales
Students in grades 1-3 use the grading scale S+, S, S-, N, and U in music.
S+ = Excellent Work
S = Satisfactory Work
S- = A few problems but trying hard
N = Needs improvement
U= Unsatisfactory
Students receive grades for classroom participation and any work we do in the music room. Students who do NOT participate will not receive an S on their report card.

PARTICIPATION GRADES
Students will receive participation points each day that they are in music. The points will be for behaving appropriately (which does affect participation) as well as being prepared. Mrs. Wiedrich will observe students during class time and if they are not singing, playing instruments, answering questions, etc... this will be noted. Those points will be entered at midterm and final grading time.
Students who do not participate during class time might not receive an A or S on their report card, so please remind them to participate appropriately! .
All students also receive a conduct grade on their report card. Students who consistently receive stop signs in the music room will not receive an S in conduct.
